Portrait of Dr. McAteeJames R. McAtee, MD

Dr. McAtee received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, Kansas in 1993, graduating fourth in his class. He completed an internship and residency program in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1998. There, he received the Outstanding Teaching Award as a chief resident.

Dr. McAtee moved back to Kansas shortly after completing his residency program and joined the Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center.

Dr. McAtee has been board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery since July 2000. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, Kansas Medical Society, and Riley County Medical Society. He is also a team physician for Kansas State University varsity sports.
